Is the last day counted?
Yes. This calculator counts both the first and the last day, the same way our gratuity calculators do.
Why is unpaid leave taken off?
Under Gulf labour laws, days of unpaid absence usually don't count as service, so they shorten the period your gratuity is based on.
What about part of a year?
In Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the UAE and Oman, once you meet the minimum service, part-years also earn gratuity proportionally, so months and days matter too.
