Which salary is overtime based on?
In Saudi Arabia, the base hour uses your full salary (with allowances) and the extra 50% uses basic salary only. In Qatar, the UAE and Oman, it's based on basic salary.
How is the hourly wage worked out?
Monthly salary ÷ 30 days ÷ normal daily hours (usually 8). Some employers use salary × 12 ÷ 365 ÷ 8 instead, which makes a small difference.
What if my company doesn't pay overtime?
Keep a record of your hours (timesheets, attendance, messages), ask your employer in writing first, then complain to your country's labour ministry.
Is this an official calculation?
No, it's an estimate at the legal minimum rates. Your contract may pay more, and the actual amount depends on your employer's records.
