Company not paying your gratuity in Qatar? How to complain
Last updated: October 2026. Based on the Qatar Labour Law; not legal advice.
Start with the Ministry of Labour. You can file a free complaint on its online complaints platform, through the Amerni app, on the 16008 helpline or at a labour office. The ministry first tries to settle it; if that fails, the case goes to a Labour Dispute Settlement Committee, which usually decides within about 3 weeks.
Step 1: Ask in writing
Email HR asking for your final settlement and a breakdown of how it was calculated. Keep copies of everything, including WhatsApp messages.
Step 2: Keep your documents ready
- Your employment contract
- A copy of your Qatar ID (QID)
- Salary slips or bank statements
- Your resignation or termination letter
- Messages and emails with the company
Step 3: File with the Ministry of Labour
- Online through the ministry's complaints platform (mol.gov.qa)
- The Amerni app, available in several languages
- The 16008 helpline
- SMS to 92727: type 5, then your QID number
- Self-service kiosks, which support Urdu and Hindi
- In person at a labour office
Step 4: The settlement committee
The ministry first tries to settle the dispute, usually within about 7 days. If that fails, the case is referred to a Labour Dispute Settlement Committee, which acts like a specialised court and usually issues an immediately enforceable decision within about 3 weeks.
