Short answer
Under Article 71 of Oman's Labour Law, daytime overtime pays at least 125% of your basic hourly wage and night overtime (9 pm to 5 am) at least 150%. For work on a rest day or public holiday, you get an extra 100% of basic wage on top of the day's pay, or a day off in lieu.
Rates at a glance
| Type | Minimum pay |
|---|---|
| Daytime overtime | 125% of basic hourly wage |
| Night (9 pm to 5 am) | 150% |
| Rest day or holiday | +100% of basic, or a day off |
Example on OMR 300 basic
Hourly wage = 300 ÷ 30 ÷ 8 = OMR 1.250. Twenty daytime overtime hours pay 20 × 1.5625 = OMR 31.250, and 6 night hours pay 6 × 1.875 = OMR 11.250.
